Green Buildings Open House,
featuring National Tour of Solar Buildings, October 5, 2002
Fall is a great time to be out and about, so why not spend some time on Saturday,
October 5 visiting solar and other green homes and buildings in your area? From 10am to
4pm on Saturday, October 5, hundreds of homes and buildings throughout the Northeast will
be open for free tours from the public during the Green Buildings Open House, featuring
the National Tour of Solar Buildings.
The Governors Office of Energy and Community Services is a sponsor of this event,
which is an annual opportunity to learn more about using renewable energy sources to heat,
cool, and power your home or business.
Highlights in New Hampshire include:
� A renewable energy festival, featuring displays,
exhibitors and home tours, in the Peterborough area;
� Homes using photovoltaics, passive solar, straw
bale construction and radiant floor heating in central New Hampshire;
� The award-winning Society for Protection of NH
Forests (SPNHF) building in Concord, which features photovoltaics, earth berms, passive
solar design, passive cooling, native materials, alternate greywater, composting toilets
� And much more!
